Watch the video to the right for an overview and some incredible and REAL before and after results!
What do I need to start P90X? Well, the basic P90X program comes with just about everything you need (12 workout DVD's, program guide, nutrition plan, and P90X calendar), but there are a few accessories you absolutely need, and few that aren't necessarily essential, but are helpful.
You absolutely need:
1) Weights and/or resistance bands:
A good place to go for dumbbells is your local sporting goods store. How much weight you need depends on your current fitness level. It's a good idea to start out with a few lighter weights. You can always add a few more dumbbells later. I have 5, 8, 10, 12,15, 20, and 25 pound dumbbells. If you have the money, you can also buy something like Bowflex Selecttech dumbbells. These are an all emcompassing system where you can quickly change the weight.
Even if you choose to use dumbbells, it's a good idea to get a good set or two of resistance bands for when you travel. Check out Beachbody's B-line resistance bands.

B-line Standard Kit. $39.95 B-line Complete Kit. $119.95
2) A pull-up bar and/or a way to anchor a resistance band for pull-ups
The P90X pull-up bar is designed to use with the program. Tony uses pull-ups with many different hand grips, and this bar mounts to a doorway and has 12 different grip positions.

If you don't want to do pull-ups as part of your P90X program, no problem! Tony shows alternative moves for every pullup using resistance bands instead of a pull-up bar. In order to do this you'll need:
1) Resistance Bands
and
2) Something to anchor the band to. One option is a door attachment. The Beachbody B-Lines Upgrade Kit contains a door attachment plus a sports cardio belt.
